This woolly childhood friend is a real family dog. A Bichon Frize is playful and intelligent, but also affectionate and sensitive. It is the perfect dog to keep the house in good order and to receive your visitors warmly. Bichons get along very well with peers and even cats. It is not a watcher, but it is very warm company, both literally and figuratively. They adapt easily to circumstances. They will therefore behave differently in an elderly couple than in a young family with small children.
With its round, dark eyes, small nose and hanging ears, the bichon frisé steals the heart of young and old. The shoulder height of this small dog is approximately 30 cm. The dog weighs about 4 kg but can weigh up to 7 kg depending on the circumstances. Bichons have long, white, curly (frisé) hair. It is therefore best to take them on your lap regularly to brush their coat. This is not only a pleasant bonding moment, but also ensures a radiant fur. Over time, they can develop typical brown tear marks on the eyes. Fortunately, there are special lotions that are very effective.
A bichon frisé is very suitable to keep in an apartment. This dog has no undercoat and therefore does not shed. So you don’t have to chase them all day long with the vacuum cleaner. This also makes them ideal dogs for allergy sufferers. These cute dogs live on average 13 to 14 years old.
