The Cavapoo or Cavoodle is a hybrid dog. It is a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Miniature or Standard Poodle. This popular dog has characteristics of both its parents in varying degrees, depending on the specific specimen. The parents have some contradictory characteristics, such as: a bit nervous versus very calm. Many Cavapoos are a pleasant mix or middle ground between the characteristics of their parents. They are cheerful companion dogs who, if well socialized, get along very well with children and can adapt to a smaller living environment.
The Cavapoo can vary anatomically from specimen to specimen. There is so much variety in the appearance of the puppies that there is always one to suit everyone’s taste. There are those with shorter or longer legs, a rather sturdy or slender body structure. The curls in the coat vary from small curls to long waves. Common coat colors are black, white, (gold/red)brown and even two- or three-colored speckled. The eyes of this crossbreed are dark and medium sized and they have furry, drooping ears. The average Cavapoo grows to a height of 30-45 cm and weighs 5-10 kg.
Cavapoos need a place of rest where they can retreat. The coat is less allergenic than that of a Cavalier King Charles but not guaranteed hypoallergenic. It is best to test this beforehand. In any case, you should brush the coat thoroughly on a regular basis and a visit to the grooming salon at regular intervals is also necessary. A puppy from a recognized and quality breeder can reach an adult age of 15 years.
