Lhasa Apso

Character

The Lhasa Apso has an impeccable disposition and is best known as a very kid-friendly dog. He is sweet and kind and loves your company. Still, he is not pushy. This Oriental purebred dog does not bark but is a surprisingly loyal guardian of your home and family. This guardian angel may be small, but he takes his role as a watchman very seriously. His irresistibly cute looks are deceiving to any intruder and make him even more suitable for the job. He is confident and even dares to take charge among other larger dogs.

Appearance

The compact Llasa Apso has an average weight of around 4 kg and a shoulder height of up to 25 cm. Its coat can be dark gray, slate blue, black, white or variegated. Reds and browns are also common and some of these purebred dogs are even gold, sand or honey colored.

Other particulars

A Lhasa Apso is easy to raise and good to keep in an apartment or condo. He really enjoys short walks. Often these are enough to keep him in shape. But he is also not afraid of more strenuous activities. Under normal circumstances, this dog will live to be 12 to 15 years old.
